New Order, synths, garage rock, surf guitars, Britpop, there is
a bit of everything in this hybrid, mostly upbeat record.
Aufheben is a robust record and a strong statement of the BJM's
Fluffy revisits Thee Oh Sees' 2011
album, Castlemania, before their live appearances in Primaverasound
Barcelona and An Club Athens!
YLT may have moved to even better and bigger things after
"Heart", however this feels like the first album in which the band
feels comfortable enough to allow room for improvisation and
redefine its boundaries.
The usual subjects of love, loss, lust, God, misanthropy, hope
and redemption are still there, but with a subtle twist.
Bottom line, KV has delivered a gem of a record in Smoke Ring
for My Halo
Tom Waits still sounds as contemporary as ever and "Bad as Me"
stands up to his golden standards and celebrates his own myth.
