Well, meeting Tenderlonious on a cold night 4 years ago inside the place that was gonna be and still is the anchorage of the New London Jazz movement, has been crucial to my life.
Total Refreshment Centre is a place where you need to go when in London if interested in everything progressive in jazz at the moment.
The man had a plan. He told me when asked that things were changing in London and fusion of cultures and characters would be something unavoidable and extremely creative.
Fast forward to now.
Ed “Tenderlonious” Cawthorne and Polish pianist Marek “Latarnik” Pędziwiatr of EABS/Błoto, visited Jaubi, a Pakistani based quartet in Lahore, to make this absolute gem of an album visiting simultaneously a lot of different music tribes such as Pakistani music, hip hop, jazz shenanigans, electronic manoeuvres.
No more to say, this is new fusion based on tradition and cultural respect.
