There is a sweetness to this album so moving, it ripples through the skin. Mamman Sani's Unreleased Tapes 1981-1984 turns a centuries-old Sahelian musical tradition into an electronic wonder. As a fan on the artist's bandcamp page has written: "Music from the heart always shines through, however you make it". So true. This is an album from the heart, calling us as if from a distant, soothing dream.
